As many who follow this blog know, Squire Patton Boggs  attorney Sarah Rathke and supply chain consultant Rosemary Coates  are scheduled to release a book on supply chain disputes and litigation in the very near term.  Entitled, Legal Blacksmith: How to Avoid and Defend Supply Chain Disputes, Sarah and Rosemary’s book aims to educate in-house counsel who want to better understand supply chain operations, and supply chain operations personnel who want to better understand the law that applies to their field.  The first book of its kind, Legal Blacksmith explains how to optimize supply chain relationships, both operationally and from a legal perspective, beginning with the first marketing outreaches between companies and the supplier bid process, through handling legal disputes when supply chain relationships fail.
However, we have received our first pre-release book review of Legal Blacksmith!  Written by Geraint John , Senior Vice President of Research at SCM World, Geraint praises Legal Blacksmith on the basis that it “takes a truly end-to-end view of supply chain, encompassing the full range of activities from raw material sourcing to product recalls,” and for being “business first and highly practical.”  Geraint writes that the authors “should be congratulated for their practitioner (and practical) focus, for taking an integrated view of supply chain management, and for tackling complex issues in a clear and concise way.”  In summary, “this book certainly scores well.”
Legal Blacksmith will be available on Amazon.com within 3-5 days!!  Expect an announcement here!
